Price of Clutch
My mechanic told me he would replace my clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and clutch for $1100. (95 integra)
I thought that price sounded a little high.
Does anyone know what a fair price for these repairs would be?

what kind of clutch the guy is giving u? for $1100? come to me... i'll get you a stock EXEDY CLUTCH for under $100 and the master cylinder for under $200.... If you live around the new york area i'll help u install it in for $100 so a grand total of $400 =P
ya.. thats too much money, all those parts you listed will probably cost u 500 for good parts. and i guess labor is a lot too..try replacing the clutch urself.
Definitely too expensive. Clutch/tranny work is not "easy" per se, so a run of the mill garage mechanic will charge you more than a tranny specialist. Did you try going to a transmission-only place such as Aamco? They should do the clutch for you for about $350 or so.
The slave/master cylinder should be an easy job for you to do yourself. You can get them new at any autoparts store, or even OEM used here on HT.
If you have the means/space/tools/time, then I highly recommend you try to do this yourself. You will learn a lot in the process, not only how to change a clutch, but how things work, and where everything is.

Why do you type/speak like that?
What do you mean when you say "his whole clutch." Did he replace the pressure plate and the clutch/friction disc along with the related bearings? Add to that the resurfacing of the flywheel, and that's what's included in a standard clutch replacement.
$1000 is waaaay too much.
