Default My own and my Type R 's un-brief story from buying to stolen and then returned

A couple you guys online might know me as I have not posted as much recently. I used to post under vivid02 (no space between "d" and "02") but I forgot my password and was never emailed a new one by HT so I hijacked my brother in laws account and just changed the name... anyways Some time back in April of 2004 I found my clean ITR sitting at a small car dealer that sells mainly SUV's on 22's and stuff. I was just passing by and could not believe what I found in the middle of those SUV's. Well I bought the car that same day even though I was not in the market to buy a car but it was a ITR and it was my teenage dream car (like all honda fans). I had gone thru a shitload of other hondas and this was not my first (or last). Here some pics a bit after I bought it.

So I blew the motor up threw an LS motor to just daily drive to work and I then decided to have a JerryBuilt motor instead. The motor dynoed 205whp.
Around the end of 2004 I then decide to buy a BMW because well I thought I was getting too old to be driving a fixed up Honda. I decide to practically give away my car to my brother in law with the certain terms like HE may not do any mod without my consent. (He is a special guy lol realy he is).

Pic of the Panty dropper

So here I am with a BMW that saves money on gas (325ci) with some cosmetic upgrades and rims etc and this car gets ladies attention like WHOA..... the problem is that I am MARRIED and the car is a nice cruiser but it is not really a fun car (except for it dropping panties lol). So I decide I need me some power and the supercharger kits for the BMW are just too much money for the power you get. So I decide I need me another hunduah and I swooped up on this 2000 Civic as a project car instead around June 2005

So the car had a B20Vtec with Arias pistons blah blah blah been there done that and I sold the car within a month because I wanted to run a K-Swap in a hundah.
I start adding the cost of a k20 swap, with mounts, wiring, custom axles, Kpro, custom header, tunning etc etc etc and the cost just to get it running and all was pretty damm high... and next thing you know around end of July 2005 BAMMM a 100% stock RSX Type S comes up for sale with super low miles. Welll I just had to have it. So I bought it and start doing some bolt on's to it CAI, DC race header, full coilover suspension Rims, greddy lip.

Pic of my RSX without the real OG rims.

Well I am enjoying my RSX and all the 6th gear saves me money on gas since I drive to work 1/2 and hour each way with no traffic. It has good torque, nice tunes for daily driving and nice high RPM weekend fun so I sold the BMW. No need to pay ins on two cars. Well October comes around and I get a phone call like at few mins before midnight on a Sunday night. My brotherin law calls me to tell me that the Type R was stolen while he was at work. The guy was actually crying (27 year old btw) and my heart just dropped. It was just unreal. As if I was dreaming. The car was still under my wifes name and insured by us. My wife and I immediatly got up and went over to pick him up and go do the police report at Santa Monica PD. The freaking cop would not take a police report because he said that the records office opens at 8am. and it was 1:30 am already. I could not believe it. He said the car was probably towed by ticket agents and they left the tow report on there desk. I got a little crazy over it and he told me to leave the PD or else. I call LAPD and they said that SMPD had to take the report since it was stolen in SM. The next day I had to go to work. So when my wife went over to do the report the officers said that the night officer was suppose to take a report on the spot. They said he will probably be suspended for a day for not following procedures. (they knew we were telling the truth due to the video playback) anyways the officer tells my wife that the car was found already and it was missing a few things. so ?Blah blah blaw.... I come to find out that police officers (another city) found the car missing some parts and in the process of being stripped. They officers did not give me any info as to where it was found. I was just told that if I was ever needed for any court issues against the thieves that were caught I would get a letter in the mail. Anyways here are some pics of the ITR after it was found and on being dropped off at home from the impound lot.
All that was missing was the Radio, Shift **** and thats it. The front fenders were unbolted, the front seats were unbolted, the rear suspension was unbolted and the motor would not start. Here some pics.

The black dust is from the fingerprinting the cops did. You can tell the rear suspension is not bolted on because of the rear camber. Well Now the car is just sitting there and does not turn on. I convince my brothere in law that he should buy a brand new car that he does not have to worry about theft and suits him better so He buys a Scion TC in white and it suits him well. So now I own my own ITR again and decide to pull out the built motor that the theives fucked up and throw in a torqueless B16 for now. The car is now safe at home were it belongs. So I was bored today and decided to throw on my 17x8 rims from my RSX on to the ITR just for ***** and giggles. They are 3 piece Watanabe Rims which will be on Sale soon enough.

Now I have my RSX which I enjoy everyday all day and my ITR which I also enjoy to drive. I don't know if I should sell one or the other or if to keep both one as a daily driver and the other as a project car to compete in NHRA, IDRC Street Stock All motor class. (sorry guys but I like to drive straights and I am afraid to turn the wheel ) I am at cross roads right now since they both have there cons and pros. I never wanted to really turn the ITR into a trailer ***** thus why I used to daily drive it before. The RSX is a nice daily driver but with a lot less weight and some more simple bolt ons should make it nice contender. I am leaning towards selling the ITR so someone else may enjoy. Well thats my un-brief story.

Cliff notes for lazy people......

bought ITR
sold ITR to Bro-in-law
bought myself other cars
ITR was stolen from Bro-in-law
Car found and returned next day
Own ITR again
might sell to someone else.

The END

I read the whole thing.

Glad to hear the R was saved before it was too late. May the thieves be raked over glowing amber coals.

Interesting story, but I have one question: Is the ITR a theft recovery now? Or is the title still clean? Just curious, I would keep both if I had the oppertunity- but I don't.

The engine is just all messed up. Spun bearings, two cracked pistons, two cracked sleeves, valves hit the pistons but survived all the intake valves are bent, the crank is no good and the car was found without my old hondata. It was using an unknown ecu with a chip. Looks like the reved the **** out of the motor. The car was found the next day while the ******* were stripping it at an unknown location. All that I got from the PD was that other cars were also found there. The impound lot guys showed me the other cars that they had which all came from the same location. Red EG hatch with a bseries motor, a black 95 Civic Ex coupe missing rims, another GSR. I am guessing that one of those cars had LoJack and the other cars were found there too.

I did not have a chance to report to my insurance so its still a clean title. I do not want to drive my ins rates up so that is why i did not make a claim for a blown motor and broken ignition. Also guys the car had an AUTOLOCK and the theives defeated it. I dont trust an AutoLock any longer. I can take pics if any of you are intrested on how the defeated it. The only trust to have is Full Coverage ins and some kind of tracking device.

As promised here are the pics of the AutoLock. This is a genuine AutoLock. The car did have a fuel cut switch as well.

That's one more layer of security (like an alarm) that's pretty much worthless. Weak.

sell the white itr? are you ******* shitting me?

dude...you sold the itr once with regrets. you got it back like it was meant to be.

and from the sounds of it, you obviously got enough dough to keep the itr along with the rsx.

i say daily drive the rsx, and make the itr the garage queen.

you sell that Acura Integra TypeR again, and I promise you sir, that you regret it.

i dont even understand how the hell you gave it away in the first place!!!!!

My next purchase right here:

$450, but when parking in a public place or overnight at a friends, you can't put a price on peace of mind.
