Neither engine will support 400whp unless Forged items are added.
GSR starts cracking ringlands around 320-345whp
B20vtec @ 14psi is all she can handle forged or not.
350whp is about it for her too.
i've built both stock & forged and blown them both around that hp level.
I suggest doing the GSR because blown up it is still worth something & it is the best platform to start with.

in the long run i'd have to say no look at almost all ndra/nhra pro comp teams, theres no b20vtec there. only in all motor there are a few lsvtecs also all motor.
besides the b20 blocks do not have any oil squirters, which can hurt you on a street car.

dont listen to that guy up there.... if you are doing sleeves and the whole nine yards then go ls/vtec or b20 vtec (b20 is just a bored out ls, harder to find and generally more costly to attain)
the 89mm stroke means more torque and displacement... sure you cant rev to the moon, but you can spool a bigger turbo quicker. for example on my 2.1 liter fully built ls/vtec with the turbo i ahve i can make 500whp @ 18psi on 93 octance

i have a gsr 630hp on a consertive tune
i have built some radical lsvtecs but their temper mental they will not rev out saftly.
any correct engine build will make alot of power it is all in the tuning but how much tuning is the question.
like i told him stay tuned there will be alot of different answers.

good point. your gsr sounds badass. whats your setup if you dont mind me asking? im betting this pull was on a race fuel of some sort?
here is my setup... except im bumping up to 1680cc injectors
heres a complete rundown on the motor/tranny setup. overall its about 2.1liters in displacement... turning it to 10k. i can make 500whp daily @ 18psi on 93 octane
