photo request and advice: red ek + cf hood
My father went to close my hood on my car he thought the hood strut was a pnumatic strut so he pulled. It didn't go down, she he yanked. Bad idea. He closed the hood and the hood strut turned one side of my hood into a tee-pee top. He offers to replace it but the local shop quoted $859 to repair/replace/repaint it. So I mentioned the option for a cf hood. Basically I know nothing about cf hoods. What is a good brand that is relatively cheap with decnt fitment and wont look like garbage after a year? What about hood pins/locks? What mandates the need for pins/locks. Can I get away without them and just use the standard latch? Will I be saving much weight over the stock ek hood? I also posted here so If you guys have a pic of roma red civic with cf hood post up
im sure there are other ways to securing them, but hood pins keep the cf hood down since the hood is so light.
trust me, having your hood flop up against your windshield while you are doing 90 on the freeway isnt something you want in mind.
