Default *** CF hood *** horror story ***56k takes a while ***

Well you can take this off if u want tom.
i just want to tell everyone becareful when buying cf hoods.
i got the hood for 3 years now and this is what happen.
i forgot the brand of the hood but this is how cheap the construction was.

i was doing 60 on the freeway and the hood flip on me the latch came off so the hood flip( you should get hood pins if u plan on buying a cf hood to be on the safe side) it mess up my front windshield lucky for me the hood flew off leaving just the underpart of the hood as you can see in the pic. it mess up the top of my car leaving behind alot of dents ..*notice one of the pic all the paint came off leaving a big scar.. im just glad im still in one piece and the car is still in one behind. the fact that i just have liability insurance they wont cover it

i'll just rock my stock hood * i learn my lesson *

well be safe and good luck to anyone buying a cf hood they arent bad to save a little weight but think about safety too.

Sucks to hear. I was paranoid of the same thing happening, so I installed Sparco hoodpins. I prefer the look without hood pins, but better safe than sorry.

That's why I used hood locks. Cleaner and more secure IMO. Damn, that sucks to hear, but you have to wonder if it just gave away because of the right wind current/draft that went under your hood..... or if the hood itself weakened over time and finally just gave....

Same here, I took extra steps on investing on some hoodpins, however, I took a different approach. Sleek-style lock pins. Sorry for you loss, I've been there before. It happan to me 3 years ago, some no-name brand hood.
