......locks the diff? Why would you want to lock the diff on a front wheel drive?
Why not just get an LSD?
I know its technically not a locking differential, but its way safer.

My buddy has a detroit true trac in his Trans Am, which is a really aggressive LSD, almost like a spool, and it sucks. the car makes all sorts of noise turning, and the wheels churp when it locks up. Its not very streetable at all, turning in a FWD will be a bitch. YOur "k" turns that they taught you in drivers ed will be come a ******* 25 pt turn rather then 3. I had a locker in my lifted Tacoma, and it was ok with that b/c there was a lot of tire (38" Swampers) to absorb the noise and tire slip in the turns, but for a honda i would say don't do it!!!!!

A spool locks the two axels together where as an LSD transfers power away from the side with the least resistance.
A spool is not terrible on the street. It feels funny turning becasue the outside tire is being powered just as much as the inside. But it won' drive you crazy. Then again, your talking to a guy who street drove a 14.x:1 comp 86mm bore motor.

we tried the richmond spool in a customers car
Straight line cars only
TCI / Richmond are for Muscle cars not imports
the Richmond spool is a bad dude if you have a rwd, but it still hops while making a turn.
you will love the spool on a straight line car ,, but Hate it on a fwd car!
just my .02

dont try running a spool on stock axles or low grade aftermarket axles. you will end up killing your self or someone in the lane next to you when you break an axle.

OBX is still OBX----------i am skeptical bout that
Well if i have to drive it on the street ill remove my driver axel

Spool diffs work great, for going straight. Break an axle though you are going into the wall or driving off the road - it would be scary.
It makes turning really hard. Highly not recommended for a daily driver. Doable? sure why not. Would i want one? Oh hell no.

I have a welded diff in my ls/vtec turbo crx street car, not my daily but I could drive it everyday. There are a couple of advantages to making it solid, one being 100 traction no matter what, no wondering if the lsd is gonna work, if you weld it like mine, you will have maybe a whopping 30 dollars in it compared to spending 900 on a nice LSD, If you are racing and break a axle you can still drive home with one wheel, (my buddy has done that before, lol). The only way I wouldn't do it is if you are someone who enjoys the curves as well cuz it won't turn like it used to, don't get me wrong, I can still go fast out country roads, it is just the real sharp turns that you would want to watch out for, the car will definately push if you get into in a curve, just be careful. People don't know what to think when you turn into parking lots, unless they know why the tires are chirping, then they know you mean business.

i use an obx in my integra and it works very well. i am very impressed with it. it has gave me zero problems so far. i would really look in to one.
