Default 17x10 wheel offsets

hey guys I am new to this board but not new to the S2000. Anyhow I am looking into getting a set of custom rims made for the car. Right now it seems the sizes i am looking at is 17x8 +55 and 17x10 +73. The question I have is can i run a little lower offset to get
a bigger rear lip and is the car able to be lowered on those offsets. Also what are your recommendations on wheel size and offsets. I am still open to any ideas so more oppinnions the better thanks

actually the wheels are Jlines
they gave me a wide array of options, but weren't too help on exactly whats the best option. My main goal is I guess, is to get as much lip as possible, maybe about 2" and be able to drop the car without rubbing. I am willing to roll my fenders if needed. Just looking for an somewhat aggressive look but don't want the wheels to stick out. Thanks again

thats awesome, actually the 6rls are the ones i am getting as well so we could be twins haha. Is it possible for you to find out what offset your friend got. I would love to have a 3inch lip, is he lowered as well. Oh ya does he have any more pictures of the car more of a close up i guess. Sorry for all the questions, I am just excited in getting these wheels and want to do it right the first time

sup fellas, i cant remember the offsets off the top of my head...but it is HIGH!!!
i ordered my Jlines 10RL2 last spring, they took about 11 weeks to get, for the most part all you have to tell them is the size you want and Maxim Lip a.k.a. Lowest offset possible. The stance on the car looks amazing in my opinion. and to be honest Jlined played it a little safe, next spring i'll probably throw 5mm spacers up front. The car is lowered, to be honest its SLAMMED, well for the most part at the lowest adjustment on Tein RA's, and the fenders have not been modified AT ALL... but if you're looking for 17's your cars visual appearance will even look lower than mine (dope)... Lip is important i guess, also make sure to see weather or not you want a Step lip or a Reverse lip like mine... but its the stance that makes the car... If you're able to push the rims out and stretch the tires to clear the fenders...it just looks amazing and aggressive...

btw i got 6RL2's for sale, but in aggresive offsets for a nissan

thanks for the info, by the way your car looks nicee. i really want to have an aggressive look similar to yours. It seems like they can only make a reverse lip with the offsets we have. My goal is to have maybe a 2-2.5" rear lip and be able to have the wheels and tires flush to the fenders as yourself. By the way who did you work with at Jline that helped you with your sizing? I would definetly like to talk to them about it. Oh ya just out of curiosity what do you guys think looks better, the satin silver or polished look on a sebring silver. Thanks again

well i called jline up today and they said just give them the size and width and they will take care of the rest. So I am stoked now. Now the waiting game
takes place. I just have one doubt though, should i stick with the 17x8 and 17x10 setup or go down to a 17x7 and 17x8 set up? I really want the aggressive look though

technically, if you go with the smaller wheels you'll be able to run much lower offset...in turn the lip will be much larger...BUT, running a smaller rim will not let you be able to pull the (stretch) look on the tires, unless you run like a 195 on it...

how much lower could you go in offset though. I am thinking maybe +69. I havn't even thought about tire sizes yet, but wil probably do a 265/40
