probaly because they got samaller oil channels thats the only way i can see a filter giving a car more oil pressure, that also means there more restrictive...

i use nappa gold or wix.

they do because the filter is like 50% smaller then the normal size honda filters. like the honda s2000 size

but if you want to raise oil pressure more THEN go to your local Honda Dealer and buy Rsx typeS k20 oil filter from them. thats what i did it's even smaller then the s2000 and it does the same filtering job..

do u think its realy safe to run a oil filter that 50% smaller than a normal one... the normal ones are about the size of the one on my lawn mower, they would have to be the size of a shot glass...
i cant see how they would do a good job filtering if they are that much smaller

they work on k20s which are bigger in displacement, make more power and rev just as high. honda didnt have a problem with them right or even the s2000?

to answer your question yes i feel comfortable using a filter smaller than the usual one.

and the 50% for hamp is more like 15% that was just an exaggeration of what it looks like and the K20 filter is like 25% smaller in length same size diameter of course.

*same quality filter just smaller. so if you are responsible enough and do oil changes every 2500-3000 even with synthetic like i do you wont have to worry.

Read both of these for info on oem sizes and quality:

Large Honda Filters exposed(OLD):
http://www.effinmotorworks.com/Filters.htm

Small Honda Filters exposed(NEW):
http://effinmotorworks.com/FiltersII.htm

Additionally, tested on a CRVtec with oil pressure gauge, a large HAMP and an old style large oem filter had a psi difference of 0-1 psi at idle and roughly 4-5 psi at the highest rpm. Worth it? That's a judgement call.

that small hamp is about the same size as the k20 filters in the second link you posted. small.

all i'm trying to do for the original poster is for him not to buy crap NAPA, pepboys, autozone FRAM filters or cheap crap. IF he wants hamp then he might as well go to the dealer and get a s2000 or k20 filter. for about same price or bit cheaper and have it in stock and not wait a week through online ordering for same quality.

unless you want to spend your green on the green and wait.

Fram makes the honda filters now. The company "Honeywell" makes fram. Look on your precious honda filter for that name.

Wix or Napa Gold.
