Default Weight Savings

just wondering if anyone else on the board has done any weight reduction, i took everything out of my trunk (spare tire, tools, carpet) and also took out the hood insulation. besides interior what else can be taken off?

I actually took out all my carpetting because it would come home from the tracks pretty dusty. Not to mention all the crap my shoes drag in. Bare primered metal floorboard with just floormats are MUCH easier to clean. I'm looking to spray a coat of Rockford Fosgate lightweight sound deadening; just a lighter, clear/amber version of the spray bedliners I guess.

The weight reduction doesn't necesarily make it any faster, at least not to my knowledge. Half a sec per lap maybe? That's not going to mean much unless you're doing seriously pro road racing.

It does help with the response of the car. The rear end is a bit lighter, and there's a bit less body roll.
