Default Installed headers... now car seems to be running cold

As the topic states, I installed a DC 4-2-1 header a few days ago. No exhaust leaks detected by me, and its definitely not too loud (which I've heard some people say is a sign of an exhaust leak). Anyway, I notice that my temperature gauge doesn't read as hot as it did before the header install. If I gun the engine the gauge will read hotter, but when I'm cruising on the freeway, the gauge is about 1/8 to the red zone on the gauge, and the gauge just seems to read lower in general. My question, is there anything specific to the header installation that could cause this? Thanks much.

headers have nothing to do with the cooling system. check your grounds. might be a electrical thing.

Thanks for the advice. At least I know now there isn't something I may have disconnected.

yea a header dosent have anything to do with cooling unless (dont know HOW) you hit the thermostat or somthing. thats very difficult to do with a header install
i dont know why you would be worried. heat=wear.

check your cooling lines and ****.

!?! heat = wear ??!?! (yes hot not good but) well running 2 cold is not good 2 !!!!

i dont like the fact that you have so much reading ... should stay the same, driving or still.... you should try and change you colling regulator !! and fluid !!!

this is expected

if you are having better air flow, the heat from the exhaust is going out alot better

when i installed comptech header, n' exhaust and high flow cat, my engine is running way cooler

the acura gauge does large increments on the water temp. you arent running that much cooler

not sure about life of the engine being extended, but it definetly isnt worse

i think the term is called heat scavveging

on turbo cars, part of the reason when they run a test pipe, is because the heat and exhaust flow is much improved, thats partly why they gain sum more power
