Default v-tec trouble

I just got some new tires for my car and everytime i get wheel hop from them my v-tec dosent work but if the car dosent hop it will kick in, what could it be( the engine b18c in integra)

ive already cheched all the wires, the only thing i can think of is the PCM(powertrain control module) thats what turns the v-tec on and off but i have heard that engines that sit for a while have that trouble and new suspention that prevents wheel hop is the only way.
