Default .::Can it be done? Question: EG suspension onto a EK?::.

I have been presented with an opportunity to pick up a set of Tein SS coil-overs for a really good deal - just about brand spanking new.

They are made for a 92-95 Civic (EG/EJ1) but I'll be putting them (if possible) onto a 96-00 (EK/EJ8).

Is this possible?

If not ... why?

If so ... what further modifications need to be performed on the lower control arms for this to be possible?

Are there any downfalls (except for spring rates) for this type of suspension set-up?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The EG and EK suspensions are nearly identical except for one thing; the bushings on the LCA are different. The EGs have thicker bushings than the EKs, so in order to swap them there needs to be a little rigging involved. I've heard of people using spacers to make the EG to EK swap, but I'm not sure how reliable that is.

Everything will swap with the exception of the following:

Rear LCAs (Ek's are about 1" longer)
Rear shocks (EG shocks would require spacers to fit the EK's skinny LCAs)

I installed the suspension successfully.

There was about a 2mm gap due to the thinner rear LCA. I filly this gap up with two washes on either side, and it's holding up perfectly - so far.
