now my friend has a 91 crx as well with a b16 but his is obd-1..completely stock.i dont remember all his numbers but his were 60' 2.5..1/4..15.0...mph..95.....my question is..is it normal for a b16 trappin 88-89 mph? or in the mid 90's?..is my motor weak? .if someone can clear this up for me..i'd appreciate it..thanks...i hope u guys understand what im sayin here....thanks again

 

your motor really has nothing to do with it.....what tranny do you have...and your final drive all contribute....not yur motor

 

i have an s1 b16 cable tranny...hmm so r my trap speeds (88-89) ok?

 

I ran a best of a 14.8 at 93mph in my B16 hatch. That was with the S1 tranny and 13in crap tires. I'll have to dig out my timeslips because I had a few runs in the low 15's and see what my trap speeds were compared to yours.

 

dont feel bad, my b16a stock for ran a 15.5, i/h/e and some other minor bullshit. I also had an ls tranny . Maybe my b16a was beat maybe i suck at driving, idk. Some b16a seem to run slower than others.

also obd1 jdm b16a makes 170hp while the obd0 version makes 160, thats also why is could be faster.

 

back when I had mine... the motor was stock and I ran a 14.6 @ 97 mph... might be a change in elevation though

 

my buddy's b16 is a 1st gen too but wired 0bd-1...i mean im cool with my numbers but i was just trippin out on how much faster his speed was

 

I went from running 90-92 mph to running 99 mph with my b16a. Sometimes there's other things holding the power back

 

What track did you run your car at LACR, Fontana, or Pomona?
Just wondering because of the elevation differences.

 

No offence, but this is kinda a dumb question. I mean, let me point out that every car is different from the next in a number of ways. Yeah, he could have a different tranny. or maybe your car has less gas in it. Plus.. someone may be a better driver than the other. there are so many factors to alter the diference in speed, and ETs. Hell... even if someone had lighter wheels, that could change things as well. Every car is different from the next.

 

I got a 14.8 at 95 mph with my car b16 I/H/E in an hf, my car needs work with little annoying things after I get that stuff fixed I'm looking for 14.4

 

best i can pull in my 88 b16 crx hf (fully gutted, not even a dash) is a 9.01 in the 1/8th. i believe this track is supposedly 60ft short. i had horrible wheel hop and i was on bald walmart tires. this is with just a short ram and a 2.5 inch exhaust. obd1 b16. i think i remember my traps being somewhere around the 76 to 78 mph mark. wish i could still find my time slips.
