Default im confuesed by the dowel pins..b20vtec help..

i bought the GE LSvtec conversion kit. so i do everything and then i get to the dowel pins. im using a obd1 gsr head on a b20 block, i put the head on and the dowel pins will not go in. im confused. on the gsr head the dowel pins are on the exhaust side(front) and the b20 holes are big in the back. the stock dowel pins are still in the head. do i need to take the stock ones out and put in the GE dowels? if so how do i remove the stock dowels from the head?

help..

i think that he has a write up on this in the all motor section. I'm not too familiar with that kit but I'm pretty sure that you would need to take out the stock dowels (can be removed with pliers or anything that can grip on to them to yank out) just make sure you don't scratch the block or head while doing so. Try that and get back to us. Hope that helps
