would it be better not to get a b16a1, but get b16a2 which is from a 92-95 civic or get a civic engine from a 96-2000? becaue i want a engine i could build and also turbo
The B16A (1) has the lower compression. This engine is the better choice for the 88-91 Chassis as it doesn't require addition coversions for the OBD1 electronic's.
Also, they are the cheaper swaps, and the transmission is still cable so no additional work/parts are needed their to convert over to a hydro trans.

If you're gonna build up the motor like you say then it doesnt really matter what motor you get..
