Default help me on a situation about vehicle title

i purchase a car from this dude on honda-tech. he said he cant find the title, so he give me the lost title paper to sign. when i went to the dmv, they said the lien holder has it so i had to mail a letter to the fed credit union. they didnt approve my letter cuz they need the buyer word that he sold the car. it been two months.

u know wat the situation that he is not doing this for me? i might have to bring him to court if i cant get the title.

thanks any info would be great or if i dont make sense let my *** know.

If a bank had the title, then it obvious the car wasnt fully paid for yet. The original owner has to clear all that up.

Yea, looks like he might not have been fully truthfull with you. I would take him to court, hopefully you have something in writing saying he sold you the car with a clear title aka bill of sale or something. Without that your pretty much screwed out of whatever you gave him for the car.

It depends on the bank tho if they keep the title my first car I had a loan out for kept the title and the second bank for a different car let me keep it and I have yet to get it cleared up. I do have the paper work giving it a clear title just havent mailed it to the DMV yet, so theres a chance that could be the case with you, but I doubt it if the bank kept the title.

Sorry I was kinda just rambling no there

never buy a car if you cant get the title first sounds like a lien is still on the car, maybe he sold you the car and with the cash paid off the amount owed, and will get you the title then, how long has it been?... to much trouble stress etc.

damn i dont want to put his name here on h-t yet. imma try to resolve it first before assuming that hes not helping me out but it has been two months. all he gave me was the lost title paper and bill of sales. i know i can take him to court anyday, but my job i hardly have time to do anything.

thanks alot guys

Sounds like the seller used the money to but other stuff instead of paying off his car loan, hehe...
I feel 2 months is enough time to settle a bank debt, even to get a title mailed to you.
Good luck with this...
