no but it is the easiest way and most insxpensive.

 

you have some serious problems if your piston is sticking out of the hole 2-3 mm

 

what is the problem ? the piston is out the hole 3mm and you can;t clear the piston "flat" to the bottom of the head ? I usually leave 40-45 thous clearance ... if its out the hole and doesn;t clear the 40-45 thous clearance then the only alternative is to use a thicker gasket

 

Hi..thks for the advise...planning to get my hands on a 3mm thick gasket...anyone who can suggest a brand which has readily made 3mm thick gasket??..or must it be custom made???

 

3mm - that's not a gasket; that's a spacer!
