when I let the clutch out sometimes in first it jerk a little and i don't think its my driving or anything I think its mabye the clutch. and suggestions

 

ummm need a better description.. other wise im just gonna say learn how to drive a stick.

 

could be bad motor mounts, bad clutch system, etc.

 

I thought it could just be me being a dunb *** but does it for everyone. Its like the clutch skips.

 

Don't jerk while you drive.......lol.......couldn't pass it up.

 

I got the same thing goin on', I think it's the clutch goin bad but I'm not sure...If anybody really knows that be awesome. It only happens to me in first gear it feels like wheel spin on a wet road kinda thing... I think I might just be releasing the clutch to slow but I've had the car for about two years and it's a recent thing.

 

check your rear mount and front lower mounts... i have a new clutch and it still jerks.. and makes the clutch and shifting act funny at times... gotta get the rear one stiffened up..

also don't release the clutch too fast especially in lower gears.. control it at engagement point while gassing it

prolly your engine torquing. Get motor mounts insert, they go around your stock torque mounts and should stiffen that out, but it will increase cabin vibration...

 

its probably nothing, its just ur shifting and downshifting and ur engine is catching up lol

 

If it is only in first gear it is your driving habits. A clutch doesn't go bad in only one gear. Keep practicing.

 

I've had the same type of thing going on since I had the Exedy clutch put in. I think it has something to do with the clutch material vs. stock. It also happens in the higher gears but is less noticable.

For me it's probably a combination of a worn tranny and performance clutch that grabs harder than the stock one.

If someone could tell me if it's possible to adjust the pedal travel on a SIR2 tranny, I'd appreciate it.

 

I noticed that it was harder to take off smoothly from a stop in the civic (98dx w/ 70k) than in my old corolla (86gts w/300k). I could pretty much release the clutch instantly on the corolla (smoothly, with gassing) and take off quick but smooth, but tried that with the civic and I get a lot of shuddering. I have to lift off the clutch at least 2x slower in the civic to get it going smooth, unless I gas it to at least 2500 rpm (I think, since I don't have a tach yet) and get lucky
