Sup guys,

Quick review is in order... I recently replaced my clutch with one of these: http://tinyurl.com/8lk9f. I used to hear people complain about them slipping but that was after I had bought mine. So I installed it about a week ago. I broke it in for 500 miles and tonight I took it to redline in 1-3 and the clutch doesn't slip at all. Works very well. I babied it all throughout the 500miles break in period and it's working great for me. No launches, no riding the clutch, no 3K+ rpms, a few miles at a time trying not to overheat it withing those initial miles.

This is on a D15B7 with about 115hp. I think it will handle the 125hp of a stock z6 just fine as long as you break it in carefully for about 500 miles.

Just wanted to say that while the clutch is new, it might seem like it's slipping but after the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch get seated, it'll be fine.

DO NOT BUY!!! from Gripforce http://gripforce.com/ They are also on Ebay.I bought a clutch kit from them installed it and the pedal was so stiff it took both feet to push it in . Plus it chattered so bad it would shake the dash and the teeth right out of your head . When I called them they talked to me like I was a little kid that didnt know anything about a car . I have been working on these cars for a living for over 30 years now. The customer drove the car for about a week and it got so bad it would not disengage at the stop lights and would have to shut the engine off to get it in 1st and revers. They told me to remove it and take pictures and send them to them ..I did .. Now they wont take the clutch back because I installed it .?.?. Can someone please tell me how you know a clutch is good or bad without installing it ??? I installed a Velao clutch kit and guess what ? It works perfect ! Google gripforce clutch kit reviews I wish I did before I purchased from them . Looks like about 50/50 on ratings

 

Are u on a mission bumping old threads this is the second time ive seen u bump old threads about this clutch... u probaly improperly installed the clutch and want someone else to blame

 

Which clutch kit did you buy? I've used the exedy oem organic kits from them on multiple vehicles with 0 issues. Never tried the F1 kits so I can't comment on those.

 

your kinda taking a risk buying a cheap clutch hoping it is going to hold up to you driving the **** out of it. i bought a gripforce stage 1 when i was 17 for my integra.. i was going to school working part time and didnt have a lot to spend.. had it for 2 years no problems at all.. couple years later made more money and went with a ACT stage 3 with my b20 swap. 5 years later.. still have my ACT.. no problems still going strong
