Default G2 Teg 450whp -> which tranny?

I have a car here that's making about 450whp. I wanted to do a hydro conversion but it didn't look nearly as simple as some have said. So we kept the stocker. I'm sure it will be a couple of weeks before the car comes back on a flatbed with toothless gears.

So the question of the day... What do the big boys run for transmissions?

running a 2000 type r transmission, expecting to make about 400-450hp when i get tuned in about 2 weeks.

the previous owner of my transmission put over 380 on it and it worked good. If i have any problems down the line, I will just build it then

I've tuned a few high horsepower newer cars with the ITR and GSR trannies. First I found that the honda LSD lasted about 2 weeks. Second I've found that the gears on the ITR and GSR transmissions are very very short. You get spooled up and pulling and it's time to shift again...

If these are really the ones to go with is it possible to swap the innards from a newer hydro tranny into the old cable one?

No. And I've seen OEM LSDs take alot of punishment.

If you are trying to get lower E.T.s, go w/ an ITR/b16 w/ a LSD. If drivability is a concern at all, I would run an LS w/ a KAAZ lsd. IMO.

I run my boosted 320whp b18c w/ gsr tranny. Its pretty old and starting to wear out but has been super good up until now. Maybe go LS w/ an lsd if you want, cheaper and you wont rev out as quick.

GSR trans with a quiafe lsd im running that right now.

gsr gears are not short (i have a built head) so i rev up to 9500 rpm.

i end the 1/4 mile i am in end of 4th gear almost hitting 140mph
