ITR LSD...how strong is it?
At the moment I have an ITR LSD installed in my GS-R tranny. I was curious as to it's whp limits. This summer I'll be installing my new engine and have to open up the tranny anyway, for some repairs. Should I look at getting a KAAZ unit or will the ITR be sufficient. My car is mainly a daily driver, but will see limited track time (1/4 mile). I should be looking at 350-400whp. Oh, and if it matters I'll be swapping my GS-R gears for LS gears, but retaining the GS-R 4.40 FD.

anyone here ever get a full quaife tranny? They are expensive but with the price of an engine rebuild, it seems you would have one bulletproof drivetrain! Would just need some extra duty transaxles and you could go FWD insane.

Those things SUCK ***!!! I have to get a whole new tranny cause my blew up in the inside and all the parts flew into the tranny further damaging the tranny. The Case got messed up too. I'm getting my Quaife on monday. That's the Last time for the ITR LSD! POS!!

Uhm.. this guy I know (TurboR in HT) was putting down 460whp on a stock ITR LSD. It worked fine for 11sec 1/4 miles on a street car. He has a new engine/turbo setup now.. and I'm not sure if he stuck with the stock ITR LSD, but he never had a problem with it.

Hmm, now I have to think. For most of my daily use the ITR unit would probably be fine. I just don't want to grenade it while on slicks at the track. Ugh, what to do...?

Get a Quaife. They are bullet proof and have a lifetime gaurantee to prove it.

I had the ITR lsd for most of the time on the car. It is ok for 300whp, but once you start going up with the power , it doesn't seem to hold, very inconsistent. Yea, I HAD the PHANTOM GRIP in my car and this unit gave me 1.6 60fts. I got the phantom grip b/c it was free and yes it works. I don't want to drag on the topic about pg, itz ur call. I think the best way to find out is from BRENT RAU 9 SEC GSX, umm Steven Thomas 9SEC Civic, umm Hyundia road racing team in Korea that did the test and found to be working very well, but like I said, itz ur call and I don't want to start a war on pg, look in your pocket and then make the decision . Qualife is most likely sponsoring me so phantom grip might have to go, but moral of the story is that YES it Works, worked fine for me.. Your car, your call. Good luck

Re: ITR LSD...how strong is it? (TurboR)
all I got to say is to whoever says phantom grip sucks, have you guys tried it out yet, have you guys have first hand experience if not don't say they suck. While in turboR's case he has one and know it works. Moral of the story don't flame on something unless you have tried it, not "O I heard it messes up your tranny" or something like that. Just like how people say a thicker head gasket to lower compression sucks but they never tried it, but it does work.
