Default Starting Project: MIATA RICE COOKIE

Well, here is the deal folks.. Flame me if you want, or give me some ricer advice. I have my N/A EF (13.30's) , and I have a Miata as a daily driver. Don't get me wrong, the Miata is a fun car to drive.. but in a way it is also boring as well.

This is what I'm working with...

Here are my ideas so far...

Nice looking body kit, nothing too crazy.
17" Gunmetal wheels
Same black paint with a gunmetal flake
C/F Hood
Anything C/F by Tenzo
C/F spoiler
Nicely done exterior and interior green lighting
Upgraded audio

I'm still making a list of things that need to be done... now I need some ricer advice.
Help me with project Rice Cookie!

miatas are fun balanced cars, the only thing is they sound like poop and the shifter is sloppy. But a great balanced car like i said before.

I would if I was concerned with performance, but I'm not because I have the civic for that. I'm going for more of a show car look... all show no go.

The wheels I suggested are going to look better on that than any 17' Motegi you would put on there.

It's funny you say your miata is boring, you must not be pushing it hard enough in the rain . Funny, I have never thought I would see the day that someone else would have the same idea I had to get a daily driver miata. I'm growing to love it more then my track car. Anyways, here's my two cents since I'm sort of in the same path as you (although I'm not really planning on tuning up my miata):

-17" rims are overkill for a car with very little power, 15"s are the max I would go.

-Repainting the Miata is a plus, I learned the hard way that Mazda paint sucks when I was removing the rear emblems, took the paint with it. If you do repaint it, I would consider smoothing out the rough textured areas on the bottom halves of the doors and quarterpanels.

-All of the Miata exterior parts (hood, trunk, etc) are pretty damn light, not like honda hoods, I don't think a CF hood would make a difference. If you dig the carbon parts on black cars then it's up to you.

-The only spoiler type that looks good on Miatas are the flat seated ones. Not too big but noticeable. I hope your not talking about a GT wing or something, lol.

-"Nicely done exterior and interior green lighting," no comment

-If your going to upgrade the audio, goodluck with the speakers in the seats.

Lastly, a hardtop is probably the best investment for a miata. That's probably the only thing on my to-get list. Finding one for cheap is probably the hardest part.

Hope this helps you. Peace

What do you mean it would be original and different, i see track/drift miata's running all over Portland during the summer with the top off and a full cage sittin' bout 1/2 inch off the gound on meshes, some of them look sick as hell and are fast to top it off

I've just posted pics of my car here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1426286

It's a daily driver for me. Sold my DC2R for it. It's insane fun!!! I'm learning how to drift the car at the moment. More power oversteer than actual drifting but it's been awesome fun learning. It's a lot more challengine to drive than a DC2R or DC5R as you can't just throw the thing into a corner without expecting the tail to swing right out. On the track you can actually steer the car with the throttle and that's a lot different to driving a front wheel drive car for sure.

And whoever said the shifter is sloppy. Are you KIDDING?! The Miata has an amazingly short shift for a stock car. It's actually a lot like a short shifter. Definitely a shorter shift than a DC2R or DC5R.

All the best with the car. Black's a rare colour for starters. Ditto the above post... keep it light, get your wheel aliggnment right and get ready for some sideways action!!!

Haha, black is NOT a rare Miata color, at least not in the US. See multiple black Miata's daily

i don't see how making the exterior will make driving the car any funner to drive, but
if you're gonna fix the exterior, here's an idea.
