My NA Miata/Roadster/MX-5 with Watanabes + more JDM goodies
Hey peeps.
I've moved on from Hondas for a bit and just bought a stock Mazda MX-5 Clubman. First thing I noticed was DAMN!!! NO POWER!!! None at the bottom, none in the middle and none at the top either. I've gotten it to a stage over the past 2 months where I am very happy with the car now (it's still no V-Tec that's for sure) so I can slow down on the mods and just start to enjoy the car. Here are the specs, pics and even a video too. Hope you like what I've done to it.

Very very nice man, love it
About the Fujitsubo header...where did you buy it, how much was it, and how well does it perform?
Also sounds like you could use a new clutch...

sick miata there sir, welcome to the club.
haha, what kind of hondas do/have you own(ed)? although going from my h22 hatch to the miata i felt the same lack of power, the miata's power band sure feels alot better than any normal civic. the 1.6 has a nice linear rev happy power band.

sick FOR a miata? have any of you guys actually ever had the chance to drive one of these things? the miata is much more of a true sports car compared to most of the rides seen her on h-t. you really have to drive one to understand the beauty of a 50/50 weight, rwd, raw little roadster. it seems like the miata was one of the last relatively affordable true sports cars.

Thanks for the positive energy guys. Appreciated.
For sure it's a real sports car. I thought I was a good driver until I tried to drive the MX-5 fast on a race track. I spun out so many times that 1st day it was insane!!! In many way's it's a lot like a Hach Roku AE86. It's underpowered but it's rear wheel drive and the communication it gives you about the rear stepping out is just awesome. You also sit very low in the car (making it very hard to get in and out of if you have an even lower race seat like me!) so you're in race position all the time.
Mugen-DC2: It's a Nardi Classic 330mm.
BIGBLOCKEK: Spot on. A lot of people say it's a girly car with about 40% of owners being female too but I am sure many Miatas have been damaged from people sliding out especially in the wet. The car's definitely not 'easy' to drive on the limit and no ABS means instant lock-ups too.
Here are some of my past cars:

EG VTi (SOHC V-Tec)

DC2R with TODA Fightex coilovers

DC5R

My 1993 R32 GT-R which I still own. Has just come out of the workshop with new turbos, pistons, rods... you name it! The MX-5 is my training car for the GT-R

I'm saying it's nice, it's just the looks I am not very fond of.

Weird, I just saw that same white Miata over at miataforum.com not 5 minutes ago. Are you stalking me? And cool car. I also have an early white Miata.
