Welding aluminum with a Millermatic135????
a friend just got his welder....and after playing around, we came in and watched the instructional video finally.
in the video it talks about the large and small variations..and it gets to aluminum. it said that you need a controller and spool gun for aluminum...but it never siad which welders could/could NOT do it.
so, will a 135 do it? my friend mostly just does body work...with the occasional exhaust here and there......and if this cna do alum..we wanna do charge pipe and catbacks for our own cars as well

better off selling the 135 and picking up a tig because you'll have to spend about 800 for the spool gun and control unit. even at that, i bet you could use the extra amps
I've got a comparable unit, the lincoln SP135T...although it says its possible, I don't think it is. I've tried and tried, and all I ended up with was an emptier wallet from all the tips I welded shut and the teflon liner kit. Better to buy a tig. I'm looking for one myself.
