Do I need to lube my new engine if it's going to be sitting for a while?

I've got a new short block that's going into my ITR but due to other circumstances it might have to sit for a little while longer. The head and valve cover is on the block, all of the ports are stuffed with rags, and I've got garbage bags over it. It's also in my garage.
My worry is that with the humidity/moisture of the air in Alabama that it sitting like this will effect it. It's already been a little over a month and it might sit there for another few weeks. I'd hate to fire up my brand new engine and have ring sealing issues, etc from the start.
BTW the short block was purchased new from Honda if that matters at all (maybe some sort of prelube already in the block?).
Any input or advice would be appreciated.
