Please save me...i just bought my 88 crx dx...it is burning rich or burning oil but billows of white smoke after i drove it home from delaware...i drove at 70mph the whole way and didnt drive it hard, it has 154xxx miles on it please help me!!!

 

It could be your headgasket. Did your coolant level go down?

 

nah no coolant problems...it actually doesnt heat up very hot at all...and when you are driving you can hardly tell its just when u rev it up...and advice that doesnt ental..."dont rev it up and ull b ok" would b nice

Running Rich is Black smoke and you cat would be fried from it. then i believe buring oil is Blue smoke. if you car doesn't heat up at all stays pointing to the cold the whole time your thermostat will be stuck open

 

are you lower on oil between gas fill-ups? on my dx motor I was down to almost consuming a quart of oil with every tank of gas.... with 238k miles and driven hard its last leg of life hehe.... lots of white smoke to shoot at people getting too close to me though LOL... no cat either

 

yeah well the thermostat does go up just not like a blown headgasket...it is the blue smoke and i need to do something...the check engine light will come on after a while buif u turn off the car than turn it back on it goes off...please help...do i need a ecu or new springs...r they cracked timing adjusted...please HELP!!!! ty
