B18c type R engine swap
Hi, i´m considering swaping into my EDM Crx (EE8 w/ b16a) a B18C type R from an Integra. Sounds pretty fast, neede some info dough. Is this a direct bolt-in??? I´m getting new engine mounts at Injen Racing, i think all i need is Engine Block and ECU. Opinions and comments needed.

Well, if your car is already set up for a B16A (whether with a mount kit in USDM cars or from the factory in other countries), swapping over a B18C5 is no big deal, at least as far as mounting is concerned. You are correct in that all you need is the complete motor and ECU. The ITR motor will mount right up to your stock B16A transmission. There are, of course, two ways to go with the ECU. You can try to rechip your stock ECU to run the C5. Or you can rewire to use the P73. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. But I prefer the P73 since it is cheaper to use (if, of course, you can do your own wiring). Also, fuel economy is better, you can use the newer (more reliable) distributer, and you don't need that retarded twin oxygen sensor setup. But wiring can be a daunting task for those unaccustomed to it. And paying someone else to do the job can get expensive.

Im sure rywire.com has something, and if not they can definately whip something up.

Does anybody know a fellow Rex´er with such a swap? What can go wrong?
Should I go for the stock b18c type r or should i seriously consider the b18c that Spoon manufactures? This is your chance, fellow honda fans, to post a reply for a project that will make yall drool... Bigtime!!!!!!!

I have a cRx, it doesn't suck.
I run the OBD0 PR3 with lots of tuning, but there are many options to run it. Since the motor comes with an OBD2 distributor and injectors and crap, just getting an OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness will allow you to use a P30, P28, or whatever else you want to work. There are pretty good tunes floating around for those motors, but the best way is to tune it yourself.

There's a guy on Super Honda dot com who goes by Jadkar, he's doing a B18C-R swap in his Rex right now. I'm sure you can get great responses here, but I figured I would let you know. The more info, the merrier.
I've done a B18C5 swap on my CRX. The motor is a 1997 JDM ITR. Amd the ECU I am using is the JDM P73. And I did the wiring myself. Although this ECU uses OBDII-style plugs, wiring it up is very similar to wiring a 1992-1995 ECU. Like an OBDI ECU, there is just a single oxygen sensor, no crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor, and no fuel tank pressure sensor. Also, there is neither an evaporative purge valve nor a VTEC pressure switch. So it is actually simpler in a way than conventional OBDI.
