Default Weird problem.

Ok, well I have an Autometer Air/Fuel gauge. I installed it all right I know for a fact. Well it's not making a reading. When I start the car the gauge turns on and bounces back and forth then goes all the way to lean, and it looks like the gauge shuts off, But I uncovered this early this morning trying to be quiet in my friends neighborhood. I meant to start out in 2nd, but put it in 4th instead. Well when that happens the car starts REALLY slow obviously from a dead stop in 4th. When that happened the gauge just lit up and started reading all the way LEAN, I am running an unchipped P28 ecu with a JDM B16 could this be the ECU problem why it doesnt read without doing that? Just thought Id ask...please respond ASAP plz

I know a few people that had autometer Air/Fuel gauges and they just never worked right. even when setup correctly and messed around with later. so personally I think theres a problem with the production of them in the past year or so.
