K, sometimes when i take off in 1st there is a small squeel. It sounds like a squeeking belt, almost like a small chirp when you lose traction...only its not the tires making the noise...Sounds like its a belt, but i doubt it...? I can hear the noise when i engage the clutch in reverse almost every time. Help

 

Could it be the throwout bearing?

Does it happen when the A/C is on or off? My old hatch used to chirp after a gear shift when the A/C was on, turned out to be a compressor noise. If it happens when air is off my guess is it's a belt or pulley noise.
