Default is ticking valves OK to drive?

is ticking valves ok to drive? jsut for like a 2 hour trip. will adjust on monday.

Should be fine. Make sure you do get them adjusted quickly, though.

It won't actually bend the valve itself. It will cause premature wear to the cams and rocker arms instead. How long it takes to start damage all depends on how out-of-spec the valve lash is.

i would say depends on how bad, sounds iffy to me though. In the worst case scenerio, you could cause a lot of dmg.

Sometimes ticking valves can be mistakenly diagnosed.. Your injectors also make a pretty loud ticking noise. I thought it was my valves, turned out to be my injectors which is completely normal.

yeah i thought it was my valves ticking too, but it was injectors.. until i misshifted 3rd gear and went to 2nd gear, then i learned what valves ticking sounded like.. ahha but got valve adjustment right away and found out my valves really needed adjustment.

ive been driving my car with loud ticking noise for almost 2 years and its ok, it must be my injectors....
