Default Ok... So a 1995 DX auto is about to drop into my lap

My sister's boyfriend is about to drop his 1995 dx coupe in my lap. He is selling it for about 400 bucks. He doesn't know much about cars and wants it gone. What are my options concerning motorswaps? All I need is the shell, but can do everything else, correct? I would probably throw in either another D series, b18b1 or b16 in it. Would I have problems with the car already being an auto? Obviously I would want to just use a manual tranny.

Would it be better to just swap an entirely new D series motor with a manual tranny?

Depends on what you want. If you just swap a manual tranny in it, you will still have the weak engine, and you will have to do some modification to the interior to get the shifter set up correctly(although you will have to do this no matter what, as long as you switch to manual. If you are wanting more power and you have the money though, a b16 or b18 swap would be awesome for power, and then you have a lot of options on where to go later for power.

I am only looking for about 160-180whp. I've already got power. Supercharged k20.

What would be more feasible/economical? D16z6 or a zc?

If you're looking for 160-180whp, I'd look for a B18C1 or B18C5 full swap and the components to swap from auto - manual. Its not easy but there are a bunch of howto threads in the archives to help you.

Did I mention I wanted this to be relatively cheap? I was thinking about getting a good condition D16 and throwing on a little t25 turbocharger. I've got a few of those laying around.

If you want a straight answer its not gonna happen...

...its just preference. Turbo D vs. B is never gonna be solved.

I'm asking asking for a B series or D turbo'd debate. I'm just getting a feel for what to do for a DX. Screw it, I'll just delete this thread since I'm not getting anything out of it.
