Alright, yesterday just turning the corner to getting to my buddies house i drop it into 2nd, and my clutch just hits the floor.... Im thinkin my clutch cable finally unraveled, but it was actually the cylinder bar connected to the pedal, and a plate (plate/cylinder part) had broken, and it looked like it was not at all suppose to do that, only fixable way from my eyes is get whatever this is.... anyone know?
damn...this happened to me 3 times!
i never got it replaced, i just got it welded. first it broke on the left of the pedal, then it broke on the right, then it broke right in the middle! i think mines going to hold up now...

Happend to me also but people says its due to my stage 3 pressure plate and 6 puck clutch..Seems like honda screwed up..Because its pretty messed up when you're driving and the damn clutch pedal just falls.

There was a thread about this earlier on the differences between the SI bracket and the DX CX bracket. The Si is much stronger and has a mounting point for a clutch start switch.

That is what I was going to say, I would see this from time to time on Hondas and welding it always worked like a charm! but $10 for a replacement is tempting as well. Maybe buy the replacement and weld it before install to give it extra strength!

That's exactly what I did for me and a few other CRX owners locally. We went out and purchased 'new' used pedal assemblies and had reinforcements welded in. If you use a stiffer aftermarket pressure plaste, do yourself a favor and take the assembly out and get it fixed up. Once the unit snaps, that's it. It's very difficult to bend the metal straight enough to weld it back up and fix it. A warning sign that your assembly is tearing/breaking is a squeaking noise while applying the clutch pedal.
Honda should have known better than to have used such thin metal.
Pic of the first one I ever had fixed... We used a square 1/4" thick steel plate on the back side of the right part of the clutch's frame. (unseen)
