Default daily driven turbo

I have a 99 gsr with stock internals and i was wondering what psi is safe to boost at for a daily driver? It has 80k on it

It's not so much the pressure as the state of tune. A well tuned 10psi setup will be more durable than a badly tuned 5 psi. Do some searching on the subject and you'll see what I mean.

Exactly. For example, a T-78 makes a lot more power at the same psi than a 16g.

its all in the tune. if you are very well tuned on 10psi, you will be fine.

This is correct. I don't know why everyone is saying 10psi when the original poster didn't mention the size/type of turbo.

The stock engine can make about 280-320whp. Pick the turbo and find out how much power it will make at a specific pressure.

how much boost is safe..... how much $$$ do you have to put into the engine if it blows?

better to spend the $$$ in the buiding it up in the first place rather than having to do it all over
