BB6 5th gen JDM H22A Swappers: What ECU are you running?
I converted to OBDII to match the rest of my car (using stock USDM 5th gen ECU), and I don't feel that the car is running to its potential. The sound of the engine is noticeably different from the H22A4 tone (deeper and rougher). Compression testing yielded results around 225psi, which is significantly lower than the 250+psi most people see on these boards (leakdown is near perfect, though).
Are people going with the P13s that typically come with the swap? Also, is there any way that I can convert to the OBDI ECU without undoing all the stuff that was done to make it OBDII compliant (dizzy, oil pump and sensors, etc)?
Thanks in advance

Well, if the engine's now OBD2 you could just run a conversion harness to get it back to OBD1, I guess.
I don't know if that would fix your problem.

featherfire: If I were still running my OBDII H22A4, all I would need is a conversion harness and an OBDI ECU to complete the switch?
you can run an obd2>1 conversion and the obd1 p13 just fine the way your car is...it will work just fine...
and you wont have to undo any of that extra stuff.....it all should be compatible with the obd2 and obd1 ecus.....

Nice. I'll pick one up ASAP. Thanks for the help, guys.
BTW, 98vtec: Have you noticed any difference in the sound of your JDM H22A when compared to your old H22A4? Mine sounds more "gruff" (if that's a real word); also, 7k+ is kinda rough sounding and feeling whereas my H22A4 was smooth throughout the entire powerband.
One thing I cannot deny: The gear ratios on the M2B4 are
Noticeably more passing power in the higher gears. Plus, spinning @ 4k at 80mph hasn't even killed my gas mileage.
