handle better than a type r
buy a TypeR.
I would think it would be pretty easy. A TypeR and GSR are very similar after all. Just find a wrecked TypeR and get the stabilizer and STB and stuff like that and urethene bushings.

longer/thicker rear sway (itr rear sway), front and rear strut tower bars, tie bars, good shock/springs (teins, etc), larger wheels/tires, roll bar would help, quaife/kaaz LSD, new suspension bushings, lighten the car up a bit
so basicaly what you guys are saying is if we mod our suspention we still wont be able to handle better than a type r?? i find that sorta hard to belive. the only thing i think the R has on us is the lsd...

I think you'd be happy with an ITR rear sway bar and a good shock/spring combo like Koni Yellows and Eibach Pro-Kits.. might not be as good as the almighty R, but it should do you well.

Take some driving classes. IMO thats the most important part of a car, the driver. I've seen plenty of GSR's beat an ITR in the auto-x and drag, its all the driver.
If you want upgrades just do with an ITR sway bar, LSD, rear tie bar, thicker front strut tower bar, rear strut tower bar, wider wheels, weight reduction.

Mine handles similar. Koni Yellows, NeuSpeed Sports (STILL need new springs, weak *** soft girlie springs....), and the ITR bar make the rear end step out. Add to that 205/50 Potenza RE730s and it's rear end will come out at will.
the type R chassis has been reinforced in MANY MANY points... along with those reinforcements, weight savings has been made to compensate for that. All the components on the Type R are tuned to perfection. Corner weight is all ideal and all that work is what makes a type R so great. Slightly modifying a type R could throw off all that perfection. Thats how well tuned the car is.
So, if you want to handle like a Type R, it is best to buy one. However, you can make it out handle a Type R... just not handle like one. Just look into the mass of suspension parts out there. Stiffen up your chassis with whatever tie bars you can find. Sway bars, bushings, shocks/struts, springs. Get the best products out there and I am sure you will out handle a Type R. As far as stiffening the chassis, there are actually a few more options than front and rear strut bars, lower rear tie bar, there is one by aerospeed that goes in the interior in the rear behind the front seat... lots of options, but i am sure if you were to get a roll cage, you would definitely have the strong chassis like an ITR and then some. Only problem from there is putting the car on a diet cuz it will no doubt weight a lot more.

What you need is good tires more than anything. Good tires continuously save your life without you even knowing
I guess rear sway, and LSD, shocks and springs, and you'll be about there. I haven't seen many people who can drive hard enough that the flex in the chasis comes into play.
And yes, you can improve on an ITR's suspension. Just look at what springs/shocks ITR guys use.
