mph tach

We changed alternator last night and today when i was driving i noticed the mph tach wasnt working and the check engine light was on. Anyone know wut to do to fix it? thanks for any help

lol man i just got my first car a couple month ago, dont know wut much of its parts are called. I find them out when i have to fix them. If you wanna tell me everything u know samurablaze is my AIM, cutty.

When you changed the alt did you disconnect the battery?

I think when we took it out, the negative was on the battery. But it was disconnected when we put the new one in.

Sounds like your cable is messed up somewhere. Assuming that is that you have the stock engine and tranny. Read up on the diagnostic codes for your ECU, and get back to us.
