Default p0171 and p0170

Does anybody have any expierience with these codes? I will be making a 3 hr drive tonight, and I am wondering what some people that might know what these mean think about making that drive with these cel codes.

Trouble Code
p0171 - Fuel system too lean
Pending Code
p0170 - Fuel trim malfunction

Do you think I will be fine to make the trip and fix it when I get back, or should I think about renting a car for the week out of town?

Also, anybody have any thoughts on how to fix this?

Thanks for any input.

It could be something simple like the FPR, but more than likely it's electrical.

thanks, that gives me a starting point.

the cel has been on ever since i drove through a big puddle, there is alot of construction going on in my area and when it rains the water has no where to go so the roads flood with just the littlest rain right now. my car died after i went through the puddle, i totally let off the gas when i went through it, trying not to suck any water in. a couple hrs later i started it up, it was rough on startup but seems to run just fine now, except for the check engine light.

any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me if this means the front oxygen sensor it going bad or what?

My car idles very low and it's running rich cause I can smell it when I park. Plus I'm burning gas way to fast.

Someone help!
