QUICK QUESTION--How to install C-ring on the end of the intermediate shaft.

The clip shouldn't be removed... if you absolutely must mess with it, I would use a pair of snap ring pliers.

The clip was removed and I have a brand new one from honda in my lap. I need to put it on without ruining it. Should I just take the shaft+ring to a shop and ask them to do it quickly?
I dont own snap-ring pliers

Logic would tell me that would be the smart thing to do.

Ok all is well, the shop did it for free and it took no time at all. They also greased it up for me.
The axle will not go all the way into the halfshaft, there is still some play. How can I get it in there without damaging the boot?

you SURE you are using the right axle? If you mix up the drivers and passenger side, it will cause this problem. Only one of the axles is splined all the way.
