no vtec...help!

no vtec...help!
I have a CRX with a B16a motor. My vtec is set at 5,000 rpm and I don't think its kicking in. I don't think I heard any change in sound, but I don't know. What can I do to see if its actually working or not?

well, I run without vtec but you should be able to feel it kick in at 5000 rpms or where ever it is set.
There is a thing called a "Vtec light". I'll look for more info and post it up.
