How would i remove my speed governor off my k20 ITR. It stops me at 125mph and thats really not cool any suggestions would be great. Thanks

You would need someone to disable that on the ECU.
Possibly by re-flashing or an aftermarket (Hondata, etc.) system.

The hybrid forum might be of more help.

The Mugen K20 ECU doesnt have a speed limiter.

 

Apexi makes something to remove the speed limiter for the K20. I forgot what its call.

 

Here you go its call RSM-GP.

In order to take the governer off, you can either get the REV SPEED METER from Apexi.

Or, You can get KPRO and tune the car at the same time and make some really good power.

Or, You can get the Hondata Reflash or a Chipped K20 ECU (i.e. spoon, mugen etc ... )

FYI - Everyone just saves a little more and get's KPRO to TUNE also

120 really isn't that bad if you're on a straight and nobody else is in danger, and you don't drive like that all the time.

But I wouldn't know, I've never hit 120 in my Type DX, interstate or roadcourse.

Oh and i love to drive fast and hitting 120 is nothing in 4th gear. Man i love this motor.

 

last time i checked 4th in a K20 type r tops out at 110 & was governed at 110

so you are 17 & have a jdm k20a swapped car...post some pics

And God Dam i love my car.

In order to have pictures then you need to have a digital camera which i don't have. But i will try to ask others to barrow one.

i'm in IL, and the highway's here are always flowing with a good amount of cars, so how do you go 120? lol i used to have an ek till someone rearended me...

actually yes - i do have a jdm k20a type r swap (purchased from leo @ passwordjdm) as well as some other goodies (toda flywheel, Exedy stg 2 cerametallic clutch, RBC(euro accord type r/'06+ civic si) intake mani, RSX-S cluster (w/multiplexor & int harness)

PRC & PRD ecu's are goverened at 180kmph...which equals 111.847 mph maybe you cluster is off ---not here to argue--- just wanna see pics
