Default Battery light came on

Ok it seems to be running fine then the battery light came on. The idle turned to **** but otherwise it's running.

Now I hope and think it's not the alternator for 2 reasons. I replaced it 4 months ago and also when my alternator went before no battery light came on.

Think I need a new battery or something else.

But does that mean anything that the light came on and my idle started jumping? I hope I can get this solved quick. I checked the battery terminals and they seem alright. Maybe I do need a new battery!

Try the battery first, since you just replaced the alternator.

Since your idle started jumping, it could be the voltage regulator. I would check that, and the battery as well.

I don't know what the voltage regulator is. Can you show me

But yeah I will replace the battery tonight at the parts store. If it still has the problem I will just grab an alternator. Also I noticed the grounding wire is in pretty bad shape. Think I should fix that on my break.

Dam I hope it is just the battery.

Fixed the grounding wire. I didn't hardly drive for 3 months so alternator still looks new. Not sure what this voltage regulator is though. I don't need electrical problemsplease let it just be the battery. But let me get to the store first!

Sorry for being a post ***** guys. I'm just really concerned about this. As soon as I leave work I am heading over to get a battery. Gonna throw it in in the parking lot. I hope this will solve the issue. Now if not I guess I will get a alternator. ******* sucks I had **** to do tonight.

I hope to god this is not gonna turn into a huge electrical issue. Sorry just freaking out

HAHA dam it was the alternator!!!

I tried to make it to the parts store but broke down. But I broke down in front of a mechanics house and he was very kind and helped me. Sometimes someone seems to be looking out I think

Sure it is. But since the last alternator lasted 12 years I didn't find it important to keep the receipt.

when u put the new alternator in did u buy a new battery or charge the batter...

an alternator is not a battery charger and it strains them alot to charge a battery expecialy if its an advance auto special
