Default stick too long

on the 6th gen accords manual, the stick is reallllly long. is there anyway to shorten the stick? i remember reading up on something on how to cut the shifter, but is there anyway to replace it? i have a short shift kit but the throws are still long due to the long shifter.

just cut it down with a dremel. I cut mine about 1" and it's much better. There's no true short shifter available for the 6th gen that I know of.

Any chance of a picture? Just wondering if it the normal length or if it was extended at some point (I have a '99 Lx 5-speed).

As for shortening the rod, yes, you'd have to rethread it if you went that route. You could cut out a piece and re-weld it, but make sure that the weld is very solid. You don't want to be shifting one day and break the rod off at the weld.

only if you're using the stock shift ****. If you're using aftermarket there's no problem.

sorry I don't have any pics. surprising because I have pics of just about every other thing I've done to the car...

Cut the stick and get a shift **** that you have to srew the pins in, instead of the regular shift ***** that you have to thread.
