Default Bad Compression In One Cylinder

My compression test read as follows on my b18c1

175 210 200 200

Now I read somewhere on the internet that bad compression in only one cylinder usually can mean that an exhaust valve is bad or part of the valvetrain on that cylinder. I don't think it's a headgasket because I'm not leaking anything at all from my HG but I do burn alot of oil in HIGH RPM's in VTEC.

Just looking for some direction as to what I might do to figure out the exact problem and hoping i dont have to rebuild my block. The head... well... thats easy.

Thanks in advance

a leakdown tester ... something u can put a regulated like 100 psi into a cylinder when its tdc valves closed to see if a valve/valves leakin etc. and holds the pressure you may be able to buy one off of.
tunerschoice.com? well worth it if you know what your doing with it. you should do one of these leakdown tests it will easily show you the problem and be able to trouble shoot almost exactly what it is valve , hg, what have you .. when you do this test make sure your radiator cap is off if you see it bubble you know to change your hg. What was done with this motor how many miles is it completly stock ? tell me more about this. please

completely stock. supposedly rebuilt i have no idea how many miles ago. skunk 2 intake mani, r1 racing header (im thinking its a cheapo ebay brand)

i havn't changed the setup at all yet, just the vtec crossover with Chrome because it would LAG when vtec would crossover at 4500 rpm's.

i wish i knew how many miles were on the motor exactly but I'm thinking it's probably around 90k now. it's a 95' b18c1 and when i purchased it with my hatch back in July the seller (92Hatchy) said it had around 83k on it.

I'll check out the leakdown tester, thanks.

dude mine was the same way a couple weeks ago. then i got the valves adjusted and everything was perfect on the compression test. i would go with a valve adjustment. if you dont know how to do it, a lot of ppl i know only charge 30 bucks.

you most likely have excessive carbon on your exhaust valves from the burning oil, you could try decarboning them reletively cheaply.

well i recently just used Seafoam on my car and I also recently just did a valve adjustment with my friend. It was very easy but took a little time. I might be able to get the adjustment professionally done over at the dealership because i know someone who works at a Wilde Honda... but we'll see. I'm definitely set on buying a leakdown test though, it seems like a great tool to have and Summit Racing has one on Amazon.com for only $70
