Default how high can i safely rev my Z6?

hey guys i traded my p28 to my buddy for his p30... hes using the p28 for hondata and im using his p30 for the more aggressive fuel and ignition maps... anyways i know that the p30 doesnt cut revs until 8200 or 8300 but i know that i cant rev that high... my z6 head is stock with a little under 100k on it... i was just wondering what i should use as my redline... thanks a lot

if you spin it to 8200 you'll more than likely spin a bearing. your head is stock, you're not making power nearly that high. i'd say stick to around 7500 rpm

i know that but im talking for like autox when it would be more benefitial to leave it in gear instead of shifting... what should i keep the revs under? i didnt know that you can spin a bearing from reving too high... i was just thinking valve float and bent valves as the result... hmmm anyone else?

dont rev that high unless you want a bomb to happen to your stock motor.

I shift mine at 7200. it pulls real nice @ about 6800-7000. I wouldn't rev it higher than 7500.

I have reved two different z6 motors to 10,000 one motor had 180,000 the other one I dont know how many miles were on it but It didn't make any power up there. it should be fine if you over rev it on accident, but no power over 7000
I had an allmotor chip in a pr4 10,000 rev timing added on top and a little more fuel

p.s. both motors still run to this day in different cars and I revved them liikke that over 2 years ago
