Default All Motor LS, taking wagers

This is my first LS motor, and i hate "guess my whp" threads, but im just curious what you guys think. its pretty mild, simple, nothing crazy.

LS Block STD Bore
B16 Pistons
Balanced rods ARP Bolts
ACL Race Bearings
Crower 403s and valvetrain
Supertech Flat Faced Valves
Blox Intake manifold port matched
S2 68mm TB
RMF Narrow Header

NO HEAD WORK YET.

Im hoping for 160-170whp. thought, comments, suggestions.....

Why did you choose 403s over 404s?

Hardcore build.

i thought the 404s would be too much, but oh well we can always by another set

I think the only thing bad about the 404's is the idle

yeah i had heard that too, this is a daily driver so i chose the smaller set.

We'll see how it runs, i dont know too much about allmotor LS. I know the head is a major factor , it is pretty crappy flow wise.

this was my old setup:

97 LS
403 cams with crower springs/retainers
stock unported head
stock IM and TB
P30 pistons mounted on LS rods with arp rod bolts
aem cai, 4-1 header (which was crushed to death!!!), 2.5" piping header back
tuned on uberdata on a dynojet by me

the car made 150whp and 120 ft-lbs

u should be making in the high 150 to 160whp cuz u have a better flowing IM manifold and great header

swap out the 403s for some 404's and the car will gain more hp. the idle is not as bad as people say it is. if u can idle PRO1 cams on VTEC motors then u can idle the 404's easily

yeah i thought 170whp was out of reach. I would be happy with 160whp. I will try 404s after we do the 403s. I know he can sell huis 403 and pick up the 404s for about the same money.

thanks guys!

What valve lash did you use for those 403s, crower says 6 intake and 8 exhuast put the valvetrain seems very loud like that.

I agree. Either way let us know how it turns out. If the 403's dont give you what you want then get the 404's. I used to have idle issues, until I tuned with crome.

Looks good. i wonder how that exhaust mani works with the LS.

I'd say about 150.. really gonna need some head work and 404's to push past 160

Seems like everyday I come on here and VtecKiDD has pics of a new motor or new dyno.

it really wasnt a guess my whp thread, i was kinda interested in seeing what people thought about the camshaft selection, and i got some good info on the 404s.

this is what HT is for.

thanks for all the informative responses.
