Default OT: converting to a type R

i know this is asked a lot but i'm trying to prove to my boy that he can't convert his LS into a type R.

i tried searchin to show him this but it didn't help as much, and i seen a lot of pics that showed differences before but can't find them.

can anyone give me some info or even show pics that it would take too much money and waste of time doin this. thanks

A limited # were made so he'll never make it a real Type-R.

An LS will always be an LS an R will always be an R. Converting it its not possible. You can make an LS look like an R But it will never be one. Besides it costs too much to do this, you might as well buy a cheaper R.

More conversions = more demand for stolen ITR parts

not necessarily true. There are the few and far in between ( me....and a few others I know ) that have brown bagged, suffered, saved, and spent money on legitimate parts wherever I may find them. I've even ordered interior parts from acura dealerships and interior parts from here from honest members. Not everything that's done to an integra have to involve them low life thieves.

if he wants to...he can take a look at my current project that I started a while back. Let me throw out this disclaimer first though. I am in NO WAY shape or form claiming that I am converting my LS into a Type R......just buying and swapping into and onto an LS....much nicer parts IMHO But you will see that I "wasted" or spent a lot of money and time. Realize though...its his money....his car.

IM me for the password.

Oh.....and if those pics won't help him realize this is going to cost way too much money than he'll probably want to invest in.....tell him that no matter how "clean" a job he does...no matter how sick it will look, the V.I.N number on his trunk lid, door jams and firewall will NEVER start with JH4DC2311....... If he doesn't know what that means.....he should sell his car and go mod something else

Well, Micheal Jackson became a white man, so yeah anything is possible, but the Title tells the truth just like the Birth Certificate. Lying to nobody but themself.

Exactly the point, sadly not everyone is like you.

If there was no demand for Type R parts, then they wouldn't be stolen.</TD></TR></TABLE>

True...but let's be real here....any Integra with mods...hell even STOCK have been stolen just for OEM parts whether it be Type R or not. I've had mine broken into when it was BONE STOCK with not even so much as an air freshener put in ( ******* took my stock stereo....but oh well....I had a new one about to go in anyway ). I guess the only saving grace that lead to me keeping my car...they didn't want an automatic lmao

And to add to what VTEC_CLUB said....don't forget...you don't need the title to tell you. If you know how the V.I.N number starts out....you'll know immediately whether or not the car is type R.
