S2S2's........the most covered, most talked about and popular camshaft profile. You can find everything you're ever wanted to know about them here... https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

why take the risk? if your gonna run stage 2 cams, spend the extra money on your valvetrain.

well now search wants to work.

if you already have the itr valvetrain, you can get portflow inners/retainers and have a portflow valvetrain. that will be sufficient.
other than that..supertech, toda, omni and rocket's valvetrain come to mind.

I had skunk 2's in my itr crx with crower springs...reving aint the prob its the fact that these cams have higher duration and lift. Reving over the engines power band wont do **** for you.Proper springs and retainers are essential and should never be seconded guessed....

ITR valve springs won't even handle the peak lift of the Skunk2 stage 2's on the HI cam before they bind. You can't universally compare how high people are revving on a given spring/retainer/seat/valve seat position combination without qualifying it with what camshaft is being used.

WRONG...my ITR's handled Stage 2's for quite sometime, i down graded my cam cause i was just tryin to helpa buddy out, and came across the ctr's i have now, but since then i've upgraded my whole valvetrain pretty badass i might add...why i'm looking for stage 3's but i've seen some Stock CTR/ITR valvetrain handle stage 1's.. and some stage2's.. i've seen them handle stage 2 crane cams and toda's but skunk2 i dunno for sure.

but in any case, better to be safe then sorry, i tuned my car for these. and i know my car every car is different so the only way to really be safe is to not second guess, that lope is pretty high on a stage 2.. if ur reving to 9300+ like me, and u only got stock valvetrain and that piston comes up to say hello... that valve is goin to beat the crap out of the piston and your valve is goin to either.
A) float
B) Crack a piston
C) shoot out the top of that block..

Exactly, I agree 100%. Integra Type R, if you would run those cams in there for 2 years like I did with ITR springs and then pull your valve cover off and take a real good look at the retainers. You'd see that the springs are going to rip the retainers apart, thats what they did to mine and I had Skunk Ti retainers in there. It litteraly cut the outside ring off of the retainers on 3 of them and had the rest of them paper thin. So you run what you want in your motor, but the power potential and life of the head will be risked if you start cutting corners.

I know a lot of people will agree with me on this. It's much cheaper to do it right the first time.

as far as I know Ti retainers needs to be replaced on a certain period coz it deteriorates.

depending on motor set up the skunk2 stage 2 will not make peak power til 9k or higher. my last motor with s2s2 started to make good power around 6600 and did not stop til 9300. for how cheap aftermarekt springs are it is not worth the risk to use itr springs imo.
