I keep Warping my rotors!!!
ok, so i do a lot of top end runs and i am at the track (drag) a lot. I have warped my second set of rotors and am getting a lot of fade in my brake pads after high end runs, what would you guys suggest would be a somewhat cheap solution to my problem?
The only thing I can suggest as a cheap fix for brake fade is to go with those cheap Powerslot/Powerstop rotors. They really helped when I had that problem.
However, they will NOT improve your braking performance, as they will brake just like stock. They will however, vent the gasses a little better, in my experience. Another disadvantage is that you cannot have these rotors resurfaced.
Perhaps your only wise choice would be to go with a brake upgrade. Whether this includes rotors/calipers/lines/retrofit/all of the above, that depends on your budget.

Don't do top end runs and you won't have this problem. Most drag strips give you enough room to slow down without killing your brakes and enough time to let them cool off between runs.
Most rotors don't warp.
Take a look at this link.
Stop-Tech know's their schtuff so I'd say it's more a problem of improper bedding of the brake pads than it is warping rotors.
Although I have owned a set of rotors that did warp (for a GMC Yukon) although it was not the brake face of the rotor itself that faded. It ended up being the rotor hat. It was micro thin (shame on me for buying cheap rotors), after buying better quality rotors, problem solved and it hasn't come back.
The hardest part about bedding your pads is getting the room for 10 60mph to 5mph runs with hard braking. I did my best on the freeway, getting up to 60 getting into the shoulder and braking hard worrying about being pulled over the whole time..

Go to napa, and order a composite rotor, once again, you can;t turn them, but they are drilled and slotted, and will cool much faster because they are made out of composite material vs. steel.
to help prevent brake fade, upgrade fluid, good street/race ceramic pads (dont go all race... they wont work on the street), and possibly stainless steel braided lines. It will add up, the rotors alone are about 140 bucks, but the investment is well worth not having to replace rotors everytime you go to the track.
