clunking when braking. diagnostic help...
Everytime i come to a complete stop, when im at the end of braking, my integra makes a fairly loud clunking noise until i stop. I've just recently replaced the cv axles, and i took it back there to have them check it out, and everything was fine with them. I had all of my brake pads replaced today, and my rotors resurfaced, and still there's this clunking noise. Anyone have this problem and figure out what it was? Thanks
Just a long shot but it might be a bad motor or trans mount allowing it to bang back and forth when you stop. Does it change it you take it in or out of gear? That would rule mounts out.
Stupid question, but are you sure you don't have anything loose in your backseat/trunk?
Where is the sound coming from? Engine bay? Rear? Under the car? Try to have someone stand outside and tell you.

seems to be coming from the front. wish it was just something loose in the car/trunk but that would be way too easy ... the people from the cv axle place said it may be something transmission related. I may just be headed to honda to have them check it out for me if I can't figure this one out myself.

a common problem would be the tie rod ends. usually their life is about 100k. to verify this jack up front of car. grip the tire at a 9 and 3 o'clock position and shake back and forth. there should be NO play. if there is the tie rod is faulty.
also consider the ball joints. to check, jack up car. grip the tire at a 12 and 6 o'clock position and shake back and forth. there is supposed to be NO play. if there is, either the upper or lower ball joint is bad.
