Default pistons...

i have a set of ls pistons and type r ones and there both a lil dirty how can i tell which are which??

By the Dish/Dome in them and the numbers that are on them. PR4 is B18 A/B LS, P73 B18C5 ITR, P72 B18C1 GSR

anyone reccommend a way to clean the grit off the pistons... i heard glass bead blasting but then i heard that leaves deposits?? whats the best way

i have used with good luck mothers metal polish and the small wire wheel attachments for a dremel tool, yes it may take ages, but oh the finish when you are done, could mistake the pistons for new, plus it allows you to get into the valve reliefs better.

p73=itr

take them to a machine shop and have them run them thru the parts washer...should be like $5-10 bucks.

They will be sparkly clean.
